I think the most important lesson I learned here is that a person should always do the best he can in whatever he does – to focus on whatever is before us, and give it our full attention and effort.

Elya, Petach Tikvah

When is enough good enough?

Shalom Shmuel and Tzipi,

I am Elya Hillel from El Ad, a small city near Rosh Haayin and Petach Tikvah. I would like to thank you for support of the IDF Preparatory Academy in Bet El, for it has been such a great place. I am religious, and I always was religious. I wanted to come to the academy to increase my strengths in every aspect. The rabbis of the academy are very warm and invite us to their homes. I think the most important lesson I learned here is that a person should always do the best he can in whatever he does – to focus on whatever is before us, and give it our full attention and effort. This teaching has touched me deeply, and being mediocre is just not an option anymore for me. We should always strive to do kindness for others. I hope to bring this attitude with me to the army, as I plan to go to a combat unit, maybe even a commando unit. So it is because of people like you that enable us to learn about Torah and the Land of Israel, and then take that knowledge to the army and make a Kiddush Hashem.

Thank you for making the Bet El Academy an option in my life. It has impacted me greatly.

Elya
