Shai Amar, Netanya

When is enough good enough?

My name is Shai. I come from Netanya from a family of seven and am now a student at the IDF Preparatory Academy in Bet El. I would like to thank you for supporting the academy, because this place is making a remarkable impact on my friends and me. We do running and hiking, and we learn krav maga. But most importantly, we learn why we need to defend ourselves. We learn how important Israel is to the Jewish People. I have gained a perspective that spans generations and millennia. I feel privileged to be born in this period of history, where Jews have a homeland and have the resources to defend it. I am determined to enlist as a combat solider, maybe even an officer. A year ago, I would have never considered such a path. The academy is preparing me for this challenge. So thank you for your support. I hope that I will be as generous as you have been in helping Am Yisrael. All of us have to help each other. We have so many challenges before us. If you make it to Israel, I would love to meet you to thank you personally.
